HI, My name is Coach Robert McCarron, I am based in Livingstone, Zambia. I coach Hilcrest Secondary School, Mukuni Warriors of the ZBA, Southern Province Warriors. I’m also the chairman if the Sports Tourism Committee under the umbrella of the Ministry of Youth and Sport and Zambia Tourism Board. All of these positions are 100% volunteer. Sport get very little funding here in Zambia due to the need for road infrastructure, better education and health understandably and the little money that does go to sports goes to soccer.
I am starting this project to help those kids who have the talent to take to University level, to give kids a healthy hobby, to increase the standard of basketball and other sports here in Zambia and to impact the lives of as many youths as possible. As I mention in my first blog, I am looking for help in any way shape or form, whether monetary, used sporting goods, new sporting goods, team uniforms, used sneakers, basketballs, volunteering, or even ideas. This will eventually become a non profit and I could use help with the organization and facilitation of the same. All in all absolutely anything. The smallest item can make a huge difference.
